The role of pedagogy in achieving the quality is crucial, and therefore, the book entitled Autotelic Learning has not only propounded a new learning theory called Autotelic learning, but also proved its usefulness through research. Although the sample of this study were visually impaired children, this learning approach can equally be useful for other children as well. The autotelic learning works on 12 principles that are crucial for an all-round development of children. Children are encouraged to determine for themselves what to learn and how and the teacher helps as a facilitator. The book contains seven chapters in all. The first chapter discusses the need and justification for the research on a new learning approach, whereas the second chapter gives details of various learning approaches that have been researched in the West. The theory of autotelic learning, which has been propounded by this author for the first time, has been expounded and twelve principles of autotelic learning have been discussed elaborately. The third chapter presents a review of research studies conducted on various approaches to learning and the fourth chapter describes the research methodology used in this study. The fifth chapter presents results of the study in tables and diagrams that suggest a clear success of autotelic learning compared with traditional methods of teaching. The interpretation and discussion of the results have been presented in Chapter 6 and conclusion and implications of the study have been given in Chapter 7. Autotelic learning has a place for students with diverse abilities and it promotes both individual and group learning in a classroom setting. The research clearly demonstrated that students had positive attitudes to autotelic learning, but the attitudes of teachers are yet to be ascertained. This book will be extremely useful for teachers, researchers, professionals, teacher training institutes, District Institutes of Education and Training, national institutes for the disabled and universities.
