Manufacturing of clay bricks is among the oldest industrial activities in the history of the human civilization. Brick remains one of the most important building materials and continues to be the mainstay of construction activities. No alternatives of brick have, in fact, yet been able to threaten the existence of burnt clay bricks seriously on technical as well as commercial ground. The pioneering volume is the first comprehensive effort to study different economic and non-economic aspects of Brick Industry. This book is the outcome of an in-depth study of the organizational and administrative setup, capital involved, marketing and manufacturing techniques followed in the industry. This book provides a detailed financial analysis including ratio analysis, break even analysis production trend and cost analysis, observable fact on demand and supply, etc. A detailed study on the work force engaged in the industry is also incorporated in the book. The present threats before the industry have been discussed cogently in this volume. Pallab Kanti Ghoshal ( b. 1960) graduated with honours in Commerce from the University of Calcutta. He took his Master's degree in Commerce with specialisation in Accounting from the same University. He obtained Ph.D. degree from Tripura University, Presently, he is working as a senior member of faculty in Commerce Department of Maharaja Bir Bikram (M.B.B.) College, Agartala. He has a long teaching experience of twenty years in different government degree colleges of Tripura. He is associated with different academic bodies and professional institutions. He has been delivering lectures as a resource person in different programmes organised by Small Industries Service Institute IGNOU, Tripura University, etc. He is a founder member of Economic Science Society of Tripura (ESSOT) where presently he is holding the post of Treasurer. He has attended a number of state level and national level seminars and contributed papers. His areas of  research interest are Accounting, Finance, Marketing and Entrepreneurial Development.
