This progress in material matters is, however, accompanied by a fall in the standards of public life. The vicious circle is that with money, politicians acquire power and with power acquire money. Money power and muscle power have totally distorted political life. Mafias and Gangsters are seeking to control public life in many countries. India too has become a topic in the world on the issue of mortality and ethics in public life today. It would be out of place to mention that these issues have become an intriciate problem in many countries. Consequently, national character received a drabbing and undoubtedly, it is a matter of great concern for everybody. The article included in this book, not only highlight and express concern over the deterioration of moral and values in public life, but also made valuable suggestions too. These suggestions will certainly go a long way in maintaining standards of morality in public life. 


Dr. Ravindra Kumar (b. 1959) is an Eminent, Scholar, Writer Indologist. He is the Former Vice Chancellor of C.C.S. University Meerut. Dr. Ravindra Kumar has been closely associated with a number of academic, cultural, educational and social institutions in India and abroad. He has 50 outstanding works and 150 research articles to his credit. Some of his famous works, of which many are of international repute and have been translated in several Indian and foreign languages, viz., Towards Peace Vol. I: Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel & Comrade Mao Tse-Tung: A Comparative Study in the Context of Pesantry, Religion and World Peace, Life and work of Kanjibhai Desai, Nehru and Peasantry, Essays on Gandhism & Peace, Correspondence and Selected Documents of Subhas Chandra Bose, Collected Essays: Voice of an Indologist, Sagai Ka Din and Kulpati Kaksha Tak. He is the Founder and Secretary of the N.V. Gadgil National Society, Founder of the World Peace Movement, The Indo-Thai Academic & Cultural League, Annual Kakasaheb Gadgil National & International Awards, a member of ICPA and Executive Councils/ Senates of several Indian Universities. He has visited many countries of the world.
