M.R. Saravanan, an Associate Professor of Zoology, has fifteen years of experience as an outstanding teacher and researcher. He did his MSc in Zoology in 1972 and Ph.D in 1980 on eco-physiology of fishes. His fields of research interests are Iimnology, fish ecology, biodiversity, conservation and marine ecology. He has successfully guided more then eight research scholars for Ph.D. and got more than twenty research articles and reviews published in reputed national and international journals. He has edited two books and is also on the editorial board of many esteemed journals. He is a fellow, life-member and member of numerous organisations. He has chaired a number of sessions of different seminars/symposia. K.L. Santhanam passed his M.Sc. (Zoology) in first division with specialisation in limnology and fisheries in 1976 and did his Ph.D in aquatic ecology in 1982. He did research in the field of limnology, inland aquaculture, aquatic pollution, aquatic biodiversity and applications of biotechnology in fisheries. An active scholar in the field of fisheries and aquaculture for the last twelve years, he has contributed a number of research papers and popular articles on different aspects of fisheries aquaculture and marine environment management in reputed journals. He has visited many countries for attending seminars, symposia and environmental activities. Presently he is attached with a research project on modern aquaculture technologies.
