Indian constitution, which is both written and rigid, has embodied in it, in unequivocal terms, the basic human rights of its population and how they should be protected by parliamentary means. The book on Human Rights Violation brings to light the various forms of human rights violation. Of the various forms of human rights violation, a detailed explanation is given about violations against four vulnerable groups, namely; women, dalits and tribal people, children and religious minorities. The socio-economic impact of human rights violation is also dealt with in detail and with clarity. As there id dearth of material on human rights violation, it is a rare repository of information to the elites, students, teachers and researchers and also activists.

 

J. Cyril Kanmony (b. 1956), M.A., M.Phil., M.Ed., B.G.L., Ph.D., serves as Reader in the Department of Economics, Scott Christian College (Autonomous), Nagercoil, Kanyakumari District, Tamil Nadu affiliated to Manonmaniam Sundaranar University, Tirunelveli. He has published 21 learned articles in various journals and books and has, to his credit,  25 well-researched papers presented in various Seminars and Conferences. He has also authored "Economic Statistics", "Mathematical Methods" Human Rights Education and "Human Rights and Health Care" and edited proceedings of three seminars, one sponsored by the Planning Commission, Government of India and the other two another sponsored by the University Grants Commission. He has completed the UGC-funded Major Research Project entitled Human Rights Violation and Its Economic Significance with Special Reference to Kanyakumari and Tirunelveli Districts.
