Perpetration of inhuman atrocities on the majority of native blacks by the white regime of Preforia in order to perpetuate the apartheid system in South Africa has indeed drawn the attention of the world community. The frontline states of the African continent are also in focus for continuous sustained onslaught of South African army. Eminent scholars both in India and Agrica have attempted to depict the various facets of emergence of Africa in International affairs. They have contributed in such a manner and in such styles that a wide spectrum of the continent’s problems are easily comprehended. Notwithstanding its abundant resources, the continent remained in a perpetual state of impoverishment. This has been attributed due to imperialist designs of western powers and at the same time the suppression of the political will of the people in the continent. How far the attempted revolution of African people was successful? What were the designs of the imperialists in Africa? Is it a race or class that has dominated the contemporary politics in the continent? How non-aligned movement has emerged as the viable movement to two alternative systems of bipolarization in international politics. The role of Third World as the monolithic organization against neo-colonial designs, particularly in dealing with the resources of the continent has also been reflected in the writings of the authors. These and other related events have been dealt with at a length by the scholars. Besides these. The role of the United Nations, both as a peacekeeper and catalyst to prevent the apartheid system has been accorded due place by the authors. Significant role of Agrica fund to mitigate the sufferings of frontline states has added new dimensions to political affairs of the continent. The new international economic order, transfer of technology, the role of multinationals and its offshoots find due recognition in the contents of the book.
