Contemporary Studies in Anthropology

Anthropological approaches provide distinct ways to view various development issues. Development interventions do not occur in a vacuum but instead act upon and are influenced by the prevailing social and cultural systems. At some place needs to increase the productivity of agriculture. or that in another place primary education has to be provided. The vital objective of this volume is to make in the book a few selected articles that represent some good contributions to the knowledge of Social Anthropology. While writing the articles the author tried completely to emphasis the concept, principles and applied aspects of the development anthropology and have. tried promptly to concentrate more on problems oriented issues relating to third world countries. This book will be highly useful to the faculty members, agricultural teaching colleges, farmers and NGOs working on rural and tribal development and to the other researchers.

Dr. Nanjunda D.C. (1978) is associated with Center for Rural Policy Innovation and Management, Coorg District, Karnataka. He has done M.Phil., B.Ed. And Ph.D. (Anthropology) from University of Mysore, Karnataka and PG Diploma in Higher Education from Karnataka State Open University (Kar.). He has few research papers, books and seminar papers to his credit. He has worked on few research projects also. He is an active member of few national and international professional organizations. His field of interest Development Anthropology, Policy Studies and Education.
