The book deals with a structural analysis of the Boro Language. The analysis is done based on different linguistic levels, viz., phonology, morphology and vocabulary. In this book emphasis is given on a synchronic analysis. The study is of a highly academic value besides its sociological importance. It is assumed that such a study will help the readers to know sufficiently about the formation and background of the concerned language. Also it is hopped that the linguistic materials incorporated in this book will surely help both the interested readers and the researchers of language and linguistics as a whole.
Phukan Basumatary (b. 1967), is Sr. Lecturer in Boro at Rangia College, Assam. He has an immense interest in tribal folkore and Tibeto-Burman language studies.he has participated in many national and state level seminars and workshops with through provoking papers on the concerned subject. A few of the papers and articles have already been published in research journals, books and national level periodicals.his publications include Boro Morphology (in Boro), Structure of Language (in Boro), Boro Language and Literature (in Boro), two poetry books (in Boro) and one translation. Some of his articles have also been translated into Assamese, Bangla, Hindi and English languages. He is also actively involved in different research projects.
