Any Technology Transfer Programme (TTP) Like Lab To Land Programme (LLP) Needs Time Appraisal For (I) Better Functioning, (Ii) Necessary Modification And (Iii) Assessing Its Impact. Keeping These Factors In View The Present Study Was Directed Towards Assessment Of The Impact Of LLP On Some Crucial Socio-Economic Indicators Of Development. With An Intensive Review Of Existing Literature, The Theoretical Framework Of The Study Was Built. A Good Number Of Standard Statistical Tools Were Used To Assess The Impact. The Study Covered The Farmers Who Associated With Crop Production Enterprise Of The First Phase Of LLP (1979-82) Of Visva-Bharati. Results Were Compared With A Matching Group Of Farmers Who Were Not Covered By This Programme By Employing "Before-After" Design Of Evaluation. The Results Of This Empirical Study Reveal That The Programme Has A Significant Positive Impact On The Aspect Of Cropping Pattern, Area Coverage Under Commercial Crops, Adoption And Subsequent Retention Of Improved Technologies Recommended Through LLP. However, The Programme Has Failed To Create Substantial Impact On The Important Dimension Of Change In Crop Yield. The Work Ends With Suggestions For Better Formulation Of Any Technology Transfer Programme Of Similar Nature.
